Minnehaha County Commission Rules On Cannabis Use In Public
Commissioners approved the second reading of that ordinance in the meeting, according to Dakota News Now.
A proponent of medical marijuana said at the meeting that the ordinance is unnecessary because state law already prohibits smoking in public places. The proponent went on to say this ordinance could impact other forms of medical cannabis like edibles.

The commission left the door open to future modifications of the ordinance to accommodate any unforeseen situations.
Commissioner Jane Bender said, We all acknowledge when it comes to any sort of ordinance or law in that changing environment, we might need to come back and change that in the future.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) The Minnehaha County Commission lifted an open burn ban Wednesday.
The commission enacted the ban on June 22 because of dry conditions.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) The Minnehaha County Commission has issued a burn ban Tuesday for the rural parts of the county.
The ban prohibits open burning.
The ban does not include cities and towns within the county.

On Tuesday, July 6th, the Minnehaha County Commission enacted a burn ban for rural Minnehaha County. This was enacted due to the extreme dry conditions in Minnehaha County and surrounding areas. The National Weather Service has placed Minnehaha County in a severe drought.
