Organisers said fears over the future of social distancing guidelines has prompted their decision to cancel. In a statement posted on social media they said: It’s with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the British Pedal Car Grand Prix 2021. While the vaccine rollout continues and social restrictions continue to be relaxed, it has become apparent to the organising committee that our original event date of July was just going to be too early to be able to get the event running properly, in a way that didn’t do such a brilliant event an injustice. As an event built around, and reliant on, our amazing spectators, to try to hold the Grand Prix without the cheering crowds just wouldn’t be possible. ....
