FedEx Cares awards 12 nonprofit organisations FedEx Cares, FedEx Corp.’s global community engagement program, announced today that 12 nonprofits will each receive a $50,000 USD grant in recognition of their work in advancing sustainable solutions to improve the environment. As part of the Priority Earth Global Grant Program, FedEx team members reviewed a list of remarkable nonprofit organizations around the globe. Close to 3,000 employees participated, helping to select the two nonprofits from each of the six regions that will be awarded a $50,000 grant. In total, FedEx is donating $600,000 toward sustainable solutions across these notable nonprofits: United States; Living Lands & Waters and Ocean Conservancy. FedEx On the Road to Become Carbon-Neutral by 2040 Apr 06, 2021 FedEx recently announced it will be carbon-neutral by 2040, nearly ten years earlier than what is required by the Paris climate accords. This initiative is impressive given FedEx’s enormous transportation footprint with 84,000 vehicles globally. Also, FedEx plans to largely focus on emissions reductions and not offsets. The company pledges to invest $2 billion towards the low-carbon transition for electrifying its enormous fleet, sustainable energy and carbon sequestration. More than 50 companies have vowed to be carbon-neutral by 2040, and FedEx is one of the latest to join the list due to concern by shareholders, employees and consumers about climate change. ....
