With temperatures reaching back into the 90s this weekend coupled with the July 4th holiday, many people will look for relief from the heat in and on the water.
Floyd and Mitchell County DNR Conservation Officer Jacob Fulk reminds boaters that there must be a life jacket for each person on board, especially kids.
Fulk says not having enough life jackets for each person on your watercraft is a $90 fine per violation and most conservation officers have a zero-tolerance approach to enforcement.
Fulk also reminds boaters planning on watching fireworks on Clear Lake or Mitchell Lake this weekend to “light up.”
