Sheriff s office looking for missing 15-year-old Middlesex Co girl

and last updated 2021-05-20 20:18:03-04 MIDDLESEX Co., Va. - The Middlesex County Sheriff s Office is asking for the public s help finding a missing teenage girl who was last seen late Wednesday night. Officials say 15-year-old Maya Hope Kelly was reported missing after she was last seen at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday. They say her family and friends are concerned for her well-being. Kelly was last seen wearing blue shorts, a gray/white Nike jacket with symbols on it and solid white tennis shoes. If you have seen Kelly or know where she may be, you are asked to call the Middlesex County Sheriff s Office at 804-758-2779.

25-year-old man killed in Middlesex Co. rollover crash Virginia State Police and last updated 2021-05-15 13:52:41-04 MIDDLESEX Co., Va. - A 25-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash in Middlesex County early Saturday morning. According to the Virginia State Police, officers were called to Route 33, east of Edgewater Road, at about 1:47 a.m. When officers arrived, they learned that the driver of a 2002 Jeep Cherokee, Cornelius Keonte Owens, ran off the roadway and struck a ditch, causing his vehicle to overturn several times. Owens was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, and died from his injuries at the scene.

Genea-Musings: Happy Mother s Day - My Matrilineal Line Carrying Mitochondrial DNA

  For Mother s Day, I thought I would post something about my mother s ancestry, and about my mitochondrial DNA which I received from her.  My mitochondrial DNA haplogroup is K1b2b (per 23andMe), which I received from my mother, and she received it from her mother, and she from her mother, and so on down the line for time immemorial (with mutations every so often, probably).
