Silver Medal Recipient, Honorary Alum Ross Roeder Remembered
Ross Roeder, a Michigan Tech Board of Trustees Silver Medal recipient and an Alumni Association Honorary Alumnus, passed away May 11 in St. Petersburg, Florida, after being injured in a car accident. He was 83.
Roeder was a charter member of the McNair Society of planned givers and a past president and life trustee of the Michigan Tech Fund. He served on the National Advisory Board of the School of Business and Economics from 1996 to 2009 and was a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of the College of Business (COB) for many years. ....

Leslie Edwin (Les) Price


Leslie Edwin (Les) Price, 92, of West Grove, PA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, in Jennersville Hospital due to complications from COVID pneumonia.
Born in Eagle River, Wis., on May 25, 1928, he was the youngest child of Henry William Price and Elizabeth (Williams) Price. His parents ran a tourist camp on the Wisconsin River and Les gained his lifelong love of fishing, hunting and the outdoors from growing up there. He graduated from Eagle River High School, then enlisted in the Army in 1946-1948, serving in the 88th Infantry Division, the “Blue Devils,” 350th Infantry Regiment, F Company, and participated in the Italian Occupation. He used the GI bill to attend Michigan Technological University, graduating in 1952 with dual degrees in Mining Engineering and Geological Engineering, the first in his family to graduate from college. He accepted a position with the Pickands Mather Company as a mining engineer and worked for them until his retireme ....

HOUGHTON Dr. Milton L. Olsson, age 80, died Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Portage Health from complications resulting from catastrophic injuries he sustained in October. Milt was born in Anderson, Indiana, on September 21, 1940, and spent his early years in Rochester.
Milt met Trudy Kinzli, an immigrant at Wayne State University. She was the sunshine of this life for 62 years. Milt and Trudy Olsson were married in 1959.
Along his life path, Milt inspired thousands of people with his music, his teaching and his kind and understanding personality. Milt was an incredible musician, conductor and composer who played piano beautifully, had a wonderful voice, a fantastic sense of rhythm and an impressive talent for improvisation. Milt was not only a great performer; he was a great listener. People loved to be around Milt, and he loved to be around them. ....
