West Ottawa s Nayeli Mora wins Michigan Youth of the Year honor HOLLAND A local high-schooler has been recognized at the state level for her academic achievements, high character and service to the community. West Ottawa senior Nayeli Mora was named the Michigan Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Club last weekend. Mora earned the Youth of the Year honor at the local level in February. “I was in shock, just super excited,” Mora said of her reaction to the award. “I’m really honored, it feels like a lot of responsibility (to represent the state). I’m happy to continue to use my voice to talk about things that are important to me, about social justice issues.” ....
