NEW CHIEF — New Mingo Junction Chief of Police Willie McKenzie III was sworn in Saturday by Mayor Ed Fithen. McKenzie had served as interim chief since August.

MINGO JUNCTION Willie McKenzie III promised the crowd gathered Saturday to watch him be sworn in as Mingo Junction’s new police chief he would serve them with integrity.
“This department will not be compromised,” McKenzie said, adding they’d work “to best of our ability to serve you.”
McKenzie has been with Mingo Junction’s department for three years and had served as interim chief since August. He said he wanted to be a force for “change within the community.” ....
