Wexford based singer-songwriter, Imelda Kehoe, has been signed to UK record label, Thoroughbred Music, with the company due to launch her new album late in the spring. Kehoe is well known on the local music scene and has already released one critically acclaimed album, How To Be Human but signing to the UK label means she will be able to take another major step in her music journey. It will also mean her new album will be released to a worldwide audience. While her style fits comfortably into the contemporary folk category there is far more depth to her work than any one tag could accurately encompass. ....
Even the celebrations were in perfect harmony on Monday morning as Wexford trio The Ivy Sisters were chosen as the official winners of this year s Aldi Christmas FM Song Contest 2020. Made up of Aileen Donohoe, Sharon Clancy and Jilly Cox, the group brought all of their glitz, glamour and dazzling pitch-perfect harmonies to their entry, Mele Kalikimaka , which is a Christmas tune with a Hawaiian twist, originally performed by Bing Crosby. While the official launch of The Ivy Sisters has twice fallen victim to Covid-19 restrictions, the ladies are hopeful that seeing their Christmas song feature prominently on the Christmas FM play-list will be a nice platform for them to work from when things eventually do open up. ....
