MASSENA â A Watertown man was charged with driving while intoxicated Monday afternoon after state police responded to a report of an overturned bucket truck on Route 37 in the town of Massena. State police charged Adam R. Warner, 30, after he was allegedly found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.14%. State law says a BAC of 0.08% or higher constitutes intoxication. Police said Mr. Warner was driving eastbound on Route 37 in a 2020 International bucket truck owned by Global Rental Company Inc., Indianapolis, when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the north shoulder of the road, causing the vehicle to spin and ultimately flip onto its passenger side. ....
MASSENA â The St. Lawrence County Public Health Department is working with school districts on the contact tracing process for positive COVID-19 cases, and a Massena Central School Board of Education member wondered if the districtâs personnel were receiving overtime or any other compensation for their work. âFor the concept of contact tracing that the school is doing for Public Health, I was just wondering if we could find out and get some sort of report as to the labor effort the school district employees are putting towards this end. Are we paying overtime or any sort of additional compensation to employees with regard to this work that theyâre doing for St. Lawrence County Public Health?â Kevin Perretta asked during a special board meeting last week. ....
MASSENA â The latest quarterly sales tax payment received by the village of Massena is more than $9,000 less than what they received for the same period last year. During this weekâs Massena Village Board meeting, Treasurer Kevin Felt said the village had received $492,071 from St. Lawrence County this month, which was down $9,332 from the same period last year. âThis brings our total for the year to $1,087,015, or 55% of our budgeted amount of $1,975,000,â he said. Mr. Felt had reported in November that the village had received first quarter sales tax revenue of $65,855, or a 12.45% increase over the same period the previous year. ....
