A WILDLIFE park is raising funds that are urgently needed to protect the livelihood of its animals and continue its conservation work. Lake District Wildlife Park is under threat during the Covid-19 pandemic after long periods of closure and says the animal welfare sector in general is in “a state of crisis” due to a lack of readily available support. Keepers are unable to be furloughed due to their key work caring for animals, but the park is not producing income whilst the nation is in full lockdown. The Keswick-based wildlife park is asking for donations to its online fundraiser. ....
Lake District Wildlife Park crippled by COVID-19 A Cumbrian wildlife park is appealing for help to save it from closure. Lake District Wildlife Park at Bassenthwaite, says it is in drastic need of help to avoid the risk of closure and being unable to feed the parkâs animals. It has been crippled by the coronavirus pandemic and has launched a £10,000 crowdfunding campaign in a bid to survive. Richard Robinson, park manager, said: âNow more than ever we need to support the welfare of our animals to prevent further devastation from the pandemic. âThe smallest donations add up to make a real difference for the park, so weâre kindly asking the public to help our where they can and help our beautiful species survive these worrying times.” ....
