LAS CRUCES - A Las Cruces man accused of battering his girlfriend who later gave her children a note to give to a school bus driver saying she was in danger has been granted conditions of release from jail while awaiting trial on felony charges.
The Third Judicial District Attorney s Office reports Erik Alvarado was given a $5,000 secured bond Thursday, April 29, by District Court Judge Richard Jacquez. Alvarado was still in jail, according to jail records, as of noon Thursday.
Alvarado, 40, is charged with three third-degree felony counts of aggravated battery against a household member and misdemeanor counts of battery against a household member and deprivation of property.
