DC Srinagar hands over 76 SOs under SASCM/ SAKSHAM scheme

  SRINAGAR : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today distributed financial assistance in the shape of scholarship/ pension under Social Assistance Scheme for Covid Mortalities (SASCM)/ Saksham among the beneficiaries of the district. The DC on the occasion handed over 76 sanction orders (SOs) among the already cleared eligible beneficiaries including 46 Pension and 30 scholarship cases. Elaborating on the assistance, the DC said that under the scheme, cash assistance of Rs 1000 per month shall be provided to spouse and the eldest member of the 46 identified families in Srinagar for which an amount of Rs 5,52000 will be disbursed annually. Apart from this, under the scheme a scholarship of Rs 20,000 per annum will be provided to 16 school going students and Rs 40,000 per annum for 14 college going students of the district for which an amount of Rs 880000 is being paid through DBT mode, he added.

‘Impact on children a serious concern’ The Tamil Nadu government has constituted a seven-member task force in all districts headed by the Collector for providing intervention programmes to provide care and protection to children affected and infected by COVID-19 as well as children of COVID-19-affected/infected parents. An unprecedented and unexpected widespread rise in COVID-19 cases during the second wave had devastated the lives of citizens and many had lost their lives. The impact of COVID-19, especially affecting children was a serious concern, an official release stated. The district-level task force would check the details of all adults, who have died due to COVID-19 and find out if children have been orphaned or children are in need of care and protection. The task force would produce such children before the Child Welfare Committee.

MP to head Task Force for streamlining supply of Oxygen and Remdesivir May 6, 2021 Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to streamline oxygen supplies to both Government and Private Hospitals in the district and to ensure that needy COVID patients get Remdesivir injections easily, a District-level Task Force headed by Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha has been formed. A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting chaired by District In-Charge Minister S.T. Somashekar at Government Guest House in Nazarbad yesterday evening. Later speaking to presspersons, Somashekar said that as per the decision taken at the meeting, all Hospitals will be directed to submit their oxygen demand for the next 10 days
