Educator, chess coach Malcolm Allen Lewis died of COVID-19

Malcolm Allen Lewis of Southfield was a dedicated chess instructor who was instrumental in leading students to chess tournament championships throughout the country. He had a lifelong mission of teaching, serving and empowering disadvantaged youth.
Lewis, 66, died Aug. 10 before paramedics could get him to Providence Hospital in Southfield. He was presumed to be positive for the coronavirus.
Born in Grand Rapids, Lewis grew up in Detroit, attended Detroit Public Schools and was a proud Pershing Doughboy. He graduated from Western Michigan University in 1981 and was a co-founder of the annual WMU Alumni picnic in Detroit. ....

MI State Police blocked GOP electors from getting inside the capitol building where electors were meeting to vote on December 14, 2020 Michigan Republican electors were blocked from entering the state capitol by state police and prevented from casting alternative ballots for president.
State Rep. Daire Rendon (R) told Breitbart News she attempted to escort the Republican electors into the building, but they were prevented entry by a State Police trooper, who is at the direction of the governor.
The building was closed earlier in the day due to alleged credible threats of violence, Breitbart News previously reported.
Republicans had chosen a slate of electors to be seated today as well, Rendon said, a move that would not happen if the election results are clear. ....
