Chappellet Vineyard
One of Napa Valley’s founding wineries, Donn & Molly Chappellet were among the first to plant vineyards on the high-elevation hillsides of Pritchard Hill, founding the vineyard in 1967. All six of their children are involved with the vineyard. The organically farmed estate rewards with a quiet setting and views from 1,800 feet, across Lake Hennessey and beyond. Visitor options range from winery vineyards walks to more in-depth tastings. By appointment only; chappellet.com.
âWherever I go, I love to see public art because it shows what the community embraces,â said artist Sue Conrad. âArt adds beauty and color to the landscape. Itâs great to see local artists thriving.â
Conrad is one of 13 artists chosen to create designs for covers wrapping downtown Napa utility boxes. The public art project is sponsored by downtown property owners through the Property Based Improvement District (PBID) and the City of Napa.

Each of the utility box artwork designs is unique. Some seem to tell a story, others are landscapes or flowers, still others are abstract motifs. All are created by local artists.

One of the East Coast’s top wineries is planning to hold its eighth annual cook-off the next two weekends, albeit the pandemic will alter how it’s done.
The winery, at 55 Winter Mountain Drive, is partnering with Chef Mark Muszynski of Curious Goods at the Bake Oven Inn, a farm-to-table restaurant in nearby Germansville, to create three unique chilis.
