Suspicious Death Under Investigation in Derry, NH

The death of a woman in a charred New Hampshire home is being investigated as suspicious, while her husband is in a Boston hospital being treated for critical injuries, authorities said Monday. Part of the investigation is a series of gunshots that neighbors reported before the house in Derry went up in flames. Pleasant Street near Grinnell Road for a fire around 10:05 p.m. Sunday, according to Deputy Attorney General Jane Young s office.

Man Identified in Fatal Nashua Fire

Parisi, Nashua Fire Chief Brian Rhodes and Nashua Police Chief Michael Carignan announce that the victim of the fire that occurred at 8 Meadowbrook Drive on March 6, 2021 has been identified. The NH Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as 58-year-old Glen Davis of Nashua, NH and has ruled the cause of death to be smoke inhalation and the manner of death to be accidental. The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. State Fire Marshal Paul Parisi would like to remind all citizens of the importance of having working smoke alarms in your home. In the event of a fire, immediately exit your home and call 9-1-1. Keep exits clear of debris and have a home fire escape plan. Firefighters arrived in about five to seven minutes. Upon arrival, they found heavy fire conditions throughout the mobile home, said state Fire Marshal Paul Parisi. They made an aggressive interior attack. The road to the mobile home park was shut down as firefighters from neighboring towns responded. In addition to the fire, the firefighters had to battle the cold, with temperatures hovering around 15 degrees, but Parisi said that didn t hamper the firefighting efforts. Other than things begin to freeze, and certainly the driveway gets really slippery, he said.The body was discovered by firefighters in what appears to have been the living room.
