According to GasBuddy, a website and mobile app that helps people find the cheapest gas near them, North Carolina gas stations are experiencing some improvement in fuel outages Thursday.
Late Wednesday, the website reported that 74% gas stations in North Carolina were without fuel as Colonial Pipeline initiated the restart of operations.
Officials said it will take several days for the product delivery supply chain to return to normal. That means some markets served by Colonial Pipeline, including parts of North Carolina, may experience, or continue to experience, intermittent service interruptions during the startup period. ....

MARSHALL, Texas Members of the Marshall City Council will reconsider items that were tabled during the last meeting regarding chattel slavery reparations and an apology for chattel slavery during Thursday’s virtual city council meeting at 6 p.m.
The item was brought onto the agenda at the last meeting by councilmember Marvin Bonner, after he was approached by Dallas filmmaker and activist Eric Williams, who authored the resolutions.
Along with the resolution regarding slave reparations, and an apology for chattel slavery in Marshall, another resolution that was previously tabled will be considered, which is consideration of approval to utilize a Chapter 380 Economic Development Grant promoting the city of Marshall. ....

According to our news partners at KLTV, Marshall city councilman Marvin Bonner planned to bring a resolution before the council that would have the city formally apologize for the institution of slavery and declare slavery a crime, and provisions including a reparations ordinance .
But for reasons still unknown, the resolution wasn t brought up at this past Thursday s City Council meeting.
This is the point in the article where the author (me) will transition into sharing my opinion on the topic.
When the news of this story broke, I correctly assumed that this would be a touchy subject but I was optimistic that the conversation about the topic would begin. But I also correctly assumed that folks wouldn t even want to talk about it because when it comes to slavery, just asking cities and governments to apologize for something that benefitted them would be a tough thing to get. ....

MARSHALL, Texas (KLTV) - A resolution aiming to institute some form of reparations for slavery in Marshall has been pulled by the Marshall City Council.
Councilmember Marvin Bonner planned to introduce the resolution at Thursday evening’s council meeting, but for reasons as yet unknown, that plan was not carried out.
Citing a long history of slavery in the region, specifically naming Marshall as “one of the largest slave-holding cities in the state of Texas,” and naming the various impacts and harms slavery brought to Africans and their descendants in America, the resolution sought to put several proposals into motion. Section 1 said that, in June of this year, the City of Marshall would officially declare the institution of slavery to be a crime ....
