Following last week s storms, drought conditions in some areas have improved across Arizona, while others still persist, according to the National Weather Service.
According to the latest drought monitor, 52% of the state is now in extreme or exceptional drought, compared to last week s statistic of 84%. It certainly has been a significant improvement, said Marvin Percha, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Phoenix. The greatest improvement, at least, around the state is in the central and southern portions of the state.
The areas most impacted by rainfall included Phoenix and Flagstaff, as well as Tucson.
