JK Reports 181 New Covid-19 Cases, 175 Recovered


SRINAGAR: The Government on Thursday informed that181 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), 67 from Jammu division and 114 from the Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 321207.
Moreover, 175 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 66 from Jammu Division and 109from Kashmir Division.
Besides this, 99.39 percent of the population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir.
The Bulletin also informs that No confirmed case of Mucormycosis has been reported today, thus the total number of confirmed cases remains 35 in the UT of J&K. ....

JAMMU, July 8: Even after the lapse of over six years, the Bio-Safety Level-3 could not be made functional in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu while a similar lab announced at the same time for Kashmir was made functional in Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar around four years back.
Official sources told Excelsior that after the outbreak of Swine Flu in the year 2015, the concerned J&K Government had announced two Level-3 Bio Safety labs, one for Jammu Division at GMC Jammu and another for Kashmir Division at Chest Disease Hospital, Srinagar so that such pandemics could be tackled effectively. ....
