NEGAUNEE Four people were evacuated from a house after an early morning structure fire in Negaunee on Sunday.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., firefighters from the Negaunee City Fire Department responded to reports of unknown smoke in a home at 919 Oak St.
The home was divided into three apartment spaces, and there were four people inside of the structure at the time of the fire.
Crews knocked down the blaze in 45 minutes, and remained on scene to monitor for any hot spots.

MARQUETTE Police and fire departments from across Marquette County held a friendly competition for a great cause last week.
Police officers and firefighters squared off in a four-hour Red Kettle challenge benefiting the Salvation Army’s “Rescue Christmas” initiative.
Spearheading the competition were Marquette County Sheriff Greg Zyburt and fire chief Ian Davis of the Marquette Fire Department, both members of The Salvation Army Advisory Board.
Agencies joining in on the fun with the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and MFD were the Marquette, Negaunee and Ishpeming police departments, the Michigan State Police, the Marquette Township Fire Department, the Negaunee Fire Department and the Forsyth Township Fire Department.
