In July 2019, a fire believed to have been started by a truck s onboard battery charger gutted the firehouse. It destroyed a truck and the village s lone ambulance. This is our second home. So to see your own home burn up, it was emotional. But at the same time, we knew we had a service we had to provide to a community, says Tivoli Fire Department Chief Marc Hildenbrand. We still had one truck left, and we had a UTV we could run around the village with if there was a disaster.And you know we weren t going to go out of service because that s just who we are. ....
Red Hook Man Killed in Early Morning Home Fire Enter your number to get our free mobile app ON Wednesday around 6:45 a.m., the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded along with the Red Hook Fire Department, Tivoli Fire Department and Northern Dutchess Paramedics to 78 Rokeby Road in the Town of Red Hook for a reported house fire with an occupant trapped. The first arriving deputy sheriffs attempted to make entry into the residence, however, fire conditions prevented them from entering, police say. Tivoli Chief Marc Hildenbrand was first on the scene, where he found fire coming from the living room along with heavy smoke conditions throughout the rest of the home. ....
61-year-old dies in Red Hook fire A 61-year-old man died in a Red Hook fire Wednesday morning. The Dutchess County Sheriff s office identified the victim as John G. Boles IV. The cause of his death and of the fire is under investigation by several agencies, including the county Medical Examiner s Office. However, the sheriff s office said a preliminary investigation indicated the cause to be accidental, and the fire is not considered suspicious. The Red Hook Fire Company and Tivoli Fire Department were dispatched to the fire on Rokeby Road, where someone was reported to be trapped in the home, at 6:47 a.m. ....
