Crave returns to Chichester Festival Theatre

Sarah Kane’s Crave was live streamed to thousands in 50 countries around the globe as the cast of four performed in Chichester Festival Theatre’s empty auditorium.
The CFT is now offering a new edit of the live stream, with remastered sound and incorporating new footage from filmmaker Ravi Deepres, on demand from May 19-29. Contains strong language; suitable for ages 16+. In a damaged world, four characters search for the light in a heart-rending, funny, kind and cruel meditation on the meaning of love.

Kingston's Rose Theatre to reopen with big summer season

Kingston s Rose Theatre will reopen this June after an extended period of closure due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement published Wednesday, May 5, the beloved riverside theatre announced an extensive list of productions spanning from June through late August as they sought to return from months of closure with a bang.
Rose Chief Executive Robert O’Dowd described the impact of three national lockdown s on the Rose as extremely difficult as the theatre confirmed the reopening date as Sunday, June 27. ....

Scott Rudin isn't producing 'To Kill a Mockingbird' tour

Scott Rudin is no longer a producer of the touring production of Broadway hit “To Kill a Mockingbird,” The Times confirmed Friday the latest fallout from recent reports of Rudin’s alleged abusive behavior toward his staff.
The theater, TV and film producer previously announced that he was
“stepping back” from his various projects, but what exactly that means has remained largely an unanswered question. Also unclear: whether the loss of a producer title means that Rudin no longer has a financial stake in the “To Kill a Mockingbird” national tour, which is set to kick off in 2022.
Directed by Bartlett Sher, the tour was initially set to play at the Ahmanson Theatre in L.A., but due to scheduling changes from the COVID-19 shutdowns, it is ....

The cast of Our Lady of Blundellsands had a run of a week before the show was cut short
Last March, Liverpool s Everyman theatre opened its new play, Our Lady of Blundellsands, starring Josie Lawrence and written by Jonathan Harvey.

DESPITE the depressing Covid restrictions on live theatre, there are some wonderful online treats to see in the New Year and beyond.
The Donmar Warehouse’s celebratory Looking a Lot Like Christmas, filmed in St Paul’s in the heart of Covent Garden, affectionately known as The Actors’ Church, is glorious to watch. An hour of musical numbers, sketches and seasonal poetry, starring Jim Carter, Minnie Driver, Inua Ellams, Imelda Staunton, Giles Terera and others, the concert is available to stream online until January 5.
