Kelloggâs praised for game-changing move that could transform shopping experience. (PA) Kellogg’s has announce a “world first” move in adding technology to cereal boxes to make them accessible to blind and partially sighted people. The new technology will allow a smartphone to easily detect a unique code and play back labelling information to blind and partially sighted shoppers. The new technology, called NaviLens, includes high contrasting coloured squares on a black background and the information provided will include allergen details. Users will not need to know where the code is located to scan it as it allows smartphones using the free NaviLens app to pick up the on-pack code from up to three metres distance.
