ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)  There are currently thousands of jobs available in the Rochester region everything from entry-level positions to senior executive positions and they are going unfilled.
Amy Voelkl is one of the thousands of people who lost their jobs because of cutbacks during the pandemic. She spent nearly 19 years working with the American Cancer Society before being let go in December. Like many others, she’s holding off on going back to work for the time being.
The thought of even searching for a full-time job right now was very frightening to me,” Voelkl said. “There is ageism out there whether we want to admit it or not. I certainly wouldn t be making the money I was making and have all of the benefits and seniority and vacation time. ....
