WASHINGTON (AP) The Environmental Protection Agency announced on Tuesday more than $66 million in grants will go to 151 places throughout the U.S> to assess and clean up contaminated or abandoned “brownfields” industrial and commercial properties that contain a hazardous substance, pollutant or contaminant. An estimated 450,000 brownfields, including abandoned industrial facilities, waste disposal sites and former gas stations, plague cities, towns and rural areas throughout the country.
“This is a significant opportunity for environmental justice communities and rural communities that for far too long have been living with blighted pieces of property. And now they can see on the horizon investment opportunities that will come to fruition,” EPA Administrator Michael Regan said Tuesday in an intervi ....

Udall Secures Enactment Of 12 Indian Affairs Bills
U.S. SENATE News:
WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.), vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, hailed final passage of 12 Indian Affairs-related bills.
The 12 bills will now go to the president to be signed into law.
Udall also cheered Senate passage of seven additional Indian Affairs provisions, which must be passed by the House of Representatives. 
Udall led or cosponsored seven of the 12 Indian Affairs-related bills set to become law, including:
