Gander highlights EGF goals for 2021 in remarks

By Doug Barrett Apr 22, 2021 1:54 PM East Grand Forks Mayor Steve Gander used his State of the City address today (Thursday) to highlight past accomplishments as well as reinforce a laundry list of goals for the coming year. Those range from park and rec improvements and street upgrades to entry level housing…greenway enhancements…addressing vacant retail space…bridges…and assisting business recover from the pandemic.  On the legislative front restoring lost LGA funding is an ongoing priority. Gander also urged the city to work together as it navigates out of COVID-19.  “In some ways rebuilding after the flood of 97′ was easier because you could see the damage…see the progress you were making…and feel the satisfaction of completing the rebuilding.  The damage of COVID is more economic and in consumer confidence.  I think the road to recovery is the same….do what you know is right…care for the needs of others…and have some doing it.”
