ICE Deportations Fell to Lowest Monthly Level While Border Crossings Remain at 20-Year High May 5, 2021 The Washington Post is reporting that US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported fewer illegal aliens in the month of April than in any other month on record. According to preliminary data obtained by the Post, ICE deported only 2,962 illegal aliens in Aprilthe first time the monthly figure has fallen below 3,000. This administration has de-emphasized the likelihood that people would get arrested if they arent a threat to public safety or recently crossed the border, so they are not going to have strong removal numbers, said Ronald Vitiello, former acting director of ICE. Thats part of a signal being sentthat immigration enforcement isnt a priority for this team. The odds of being arrested just for being in the country illegally were always extremely low, and now theyve basically ruled it out by policy. ....
Furniture World News MONTHLY RESULTS New Orders According to our latest survey of residential furniture manufacturers and distributors, February 2021 new orders were 34% higher than February 2020 orders continuing the string of strong double-digit growth in new orders, now up 9 months in a row. January’s new orders were up 27%. New orders were up for 94% of the participants.
For the first two months of the year, new orders were up 31% over the same two months of 2020. Year to date, new orders were up for 88% of the participants. We are not sure what we will see for the next two months as March 2020 was when we first saw the drop off of business due to the onset of the pandemic. So, the next few months will likely show some drastic variations, which will take a while for the numbers to get sorted out. ....
