Wisconsin s Dane County eases virus orders on outdoor groups April 3, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail MADISON, Wis. (AP) Wisconsin s second-most-populated county announced that starting Wednesday it will no longer require people at outdoor gatherings to wear masks or keep crowds to a certain size, as long as they stay distanced from each other. Public Health Madison and Dane County s public health order stipulates that people at outdoor gatherings are required to stay 6 feet (1.8 meters) away from each other, the Wisconsin State Journal reported. The order also allows self-service food stations and public saunas to reopen. The order came as Wisconsin s average daily cases have been on the rise, increasing by 24% over the last two weeks. The state reported 706 new cases Saturday, as well as seven deaths. ....
Fond du Lac prosecutor announces attorney general run Associated Press FacebookTwitterEmail MADISON, Wis. (AP) Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney will challenge Attorney General Josh Kaul next year. Toney announced his candidacy Saturday afternoon in a news release. He s the first Republican to get into the race. He accused Kaul, a Democrat, of being more interested in playing politics than in law enforcement, saying Kaul is working to advance liberal causes such as student loan debt forgiveness. Kaul joined a group of 23 attorneys general on a letter Wednesday to U.S. Education Secretary Miguel Cordona calling for more reforms to ease the student loan payback process and protect borrowers from paying back loans to defunct colleges. ....

With the ballpark at just 25 percent capacity because of the ongoing pandemic, Christian Yelich, Keston Hiura, Omar Narvaez, and Orlando Arcia all combined forces to turn a ninth inning 5-2 deficit into a 6-5 win. The rally began with one out in the ninth inning when newcomer Kolten Wong was hit by an Alex Colome pitch. Wong then moved to second base on a Colome throwing error on Keston Hiura’s comebacker to the mound. Wong then came home when Christian Yelich’s long drive to the right field warning track could not be corralled by Minnesota’s Max Kepler’s glove. ....
