Lee Lady Flames Advance To Gulf South Hoops Championship Saturday, March 6, 2021 It is on to the championship round of the Gulf South Conference tournament for the Lee women s basketball team as they gained sweet revenge over host Valdosta State with a spine-tingling 74-71 victory. The Lady Flames advanced to face an old rival in Union University on Sunday at 2 p.m. The championship game will be played at a neutral site, the University of Auburn Montgomery. I m so proud of this team and the way they re battling as a group. We showed such toughness those last few plays on both ends of the court, said Coach Marty Rowe after the victory. ....
Freshman Duncan Leads Lee Women Over Shorter Thursday, December 17, 2020 Freshman Julia Duncan tallied 19 points and sophomore Haley Schubert followed with 16 in leading the Lee women s basketball team to a 72-53 road victory at Shorter University on Wednesday evening. The Lady Flames improved to 2-0 and expect to face a stronger challenge at Valdosta State on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Any win on the road in the GSC is important, said Lee coach Marty Rowe after the victory. I m not sure we played to the high expectation level we have for our teams but give Shorter credit they re much improved and competed hard for 40 minutes. ....
