Chapman St teen accused of arms, drugs, assaulting four Article by May 13, 2021 A City teen is to spend the next 28 days on remand on gun, assault and drug charges. Tresanee DeAngelo Goodridge, 19, of Chapman Street, is accused of possessing an unlicensed firearm and 13 rounds of ammunition on May 5. As the weapons charges are indictable, Goodridge was not required to enter a plea before the No.1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court. He is represented by Shadia Simpson as his defence counsel. Goodridge was also not required to plead to the charge that he unlawfully assaulted Troy Jordan, Ian Chase, Sanaj Lewis and Jamal Grant on the same day. ....
Wildey man on remand on theft charges Article by May 13, 2021 With charges against him already pending in the judicial system, a Wildey man lost his chance at bail when he appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee on Wednesday. Henderson Levere Roberts, 30, from Factory Avenue is accused of trespassing on Addison Worrell’s shop on April 30 and stealing $220 cash, $21.25 worth of cigarettes, $20 worth of soft drinks and $52 worth of wrappers. He is also accused of stealing a bicycle worth $1,400 belonging to Winston Thomas, trespassing on Rhonda Hollingsworth’s and stealing a garden hose worth $67 between May 2 and 3. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and Station Sergeant Cameron Gibbons objected to bail. ....
Argentinian pleads guilty to theft charge Article by May 11, 2021 An Argentine man who has been on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison Dodds for some time on allegations of stealing money from two financial institutions has pleaded guilty to at least one of those offences. Joaquin Alberto Lobo from Caseros, a town in Greater Buenos Aires, appeared before Magistrate Manila Renee on Monday and pleaded guilty to stealing $3,040 in cash from the Barbados Public Workers Credit Union Limited between July 6 and 7, 2019. Station Sergeant Cameron Gibbons told the court that the credit union’s officials reported unauthorized withdrawals from its automatic banking machine. Investigations began and CCTV video pinpointed Lobo. He was taken into custody and admitted to the offence. A search revealed that he had 17 banking machine cards in his possession. ....
Burglar runs out of chances, gets year in jail Article by May 11, 2021 Dequan Kareem Bobb ran out of chances when he appeared Monday before a District ‘A’ magistrate for not keeping a promise to stay out of trouble. The 24-year-old of Garden Land, Country Road, St Michael was sentenced to one year in prison for two acts of burglary. Last September, Magistrate Manila Renee placed Bobb on an 18-month bond to keep the peace and be on good behaviour. The penalty for the bond was $500 in one week or two days in prison. But within that time, he was back before another magistrate who gave him a chance to get over his drug habit at Verdun House but the court heard he squandered that opportunity by being expelled over a fracas with another client. ....
Jailtime for City thief Article by Known convict Marston Owen Marshall has been sentenced to nine months in prison. The 43-year-old Ashby Alley, Nelson Street, St Michael resident was sentenced by Magistrate Manila Renee in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court. Marshall had pleaded guilty to loitering at Pirates Cove Beach on April 6 with cause to suspect that he was about to steal. He was convicted, reprimanded and discharged for that offence. However, the convict was sentenced to time in jail after he admitted to having a ratchet, two hammers, a wrench and two screwdrivers on the same date for use in the course of theft when he was not at his place of abode. ....
