New manager settles in at Henderson Country Club


HENDERSON — The Henderson Country Club has a new general manager.
In July, 2020, the club engaged the Bobby Jones Links Group to manage the club, ending the services of Robert Mueller, who had served as general manager for about two years.
This week, Bobby Jones Links, an Atlanta based club management company, brought in Paul Martino as general manager. He follows two short-term managers the company provided.
Martino assumed his duties on Monday.
“On day four, I don’t know any changes we’ll make,” he told The Daily Dispatch. “I’m trying to take it all in.”
Martino, 54, brings 31 years of experience to the job. For the past 17 years, he was director of golf and general manager for the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove, a 54-hole club in Mobile, Alabama. ....

As a teenager in the 1970s, the flagship store just off London’s Sloane Street was a beacon of possibilities. I recall vividly the first Laura Ashley piece I owned: a purple smock that cost £25, a fortune to a schoolgirl back then. HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - The Alabama High School Athletic Association Central Board of Control approved moving the upcoming 2021 AHSAA State Softball Championships to Oxford’s Choccolocco Park, which is scheduled to be played May 18-22. The 2022 state tourney will also be held at Choccolocco Park.   The move was approved at Wednesday’s virtual Central Board meeting held at the AHSAA.   Montgomery’s Lagoon Park, which has hosted the AHSAA State Softball Championships since its inception in 1986, will host the East Central Regional Softball tournament qualifier originally set for Oxford’s Choccolocco Park this spring     ....
