Rob Baron and a beloved Blackburn Rovers shirt TRIBUTES have been paid to a Blackburn Rovers fan and entertainer who died after catching coronavirus. The funeral of Rob Baron was taking place today, laid to rest in a Rovers shirt weeks after his 57th birthday. The Ewood Park club was in his blood as his dad Geoff played for their ‘B’ team in 1947-48 while his grandmother, Maggie Baron, used to darn the club’s socks after games from 1945 for many years. He was also a distant relative of Rovers’ legendary full-back Bob Crompton and the family have his first England cap. ....
