Introduction of Punjab Fertilizer Bill 2020: Fertilizer industry for taking all stakeholders on board

LAHORE: The fertilizer industry has asked the Punjab government to take all stakeholders on board while introducing the Punjab Fertilizer Bill 2020 for a more judicious view and avoiding any issue after the bill is introduced.
A committee headed by Law Minister Raja Basharat is currently reviewing the draft of the Punjab Fertilizer Bill 2020. However, the industry officials believe that input from stakeholders always strengthens the legislation by addressing the implementation issues at the drafting stage. The industry officials believed if the all stakeholders are not addressed at the drafting stage, it may lead to disruption of business environment. The proposed laws are against the spirit of the Fertilizer Policy 2001 which provides for deregulation of fertilizer products. Hence, it may lead to chaos at the national level. The commission has appointed Returning Officers (ROs) and Polling Officers (POs) to conduct polls
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday finalized all necessary arrangements for holding Senate elections on Wednesday (March 3) on the seats which are going to be vacant after retirement of members on March 11.
According to an official of ECP, the polling will be held from 0900 hours to 1700 hours simultaneously in the Parliament House Islamabad, and provincial assembly buildings in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The polling is due on two seats in Islamabad, 11 each in Punjab and Sindh, and 12 each in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan- that will fall vacant on the expiration of the term of the members. However there will be no polling in Punjab because of un-contested elections of candidates on all 11 seats of Punjab. ....

New low for Pakistan as lawmakers of Imran Khan's party thrash 'rebel' members in Sindh Assembly


KARACHI: In a new low for Pakistan, Prime Minister Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers on Tuesday physically thrashed rebel party members during a session in the Sindh Assembly after they refused to vote for party candidates in the Senate elections.
The three Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs), Aslam Abro, Shehryar Shar and Karim Bakhsh Gabol, had earlier announced that they will vote as per their aspirations, reported Geo News.
When the rebel members entered the Sindh Assembly, they were attacked by the PTI MPAs, leading to chaotic situation chaos in the Sindh Assembly.
As the situation in the Sindh Assembly turned quickly violent, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) members also got involved in attempting to disengage the scuffling lawmakers. ....
