Moffat County Public Health transitions to online portal for vaccination scheduling

As vaccinations continue to ramp up in Moffat County, Public Health is transitioning to a new online portal to help with scheduling vaccinations moving forward, according to the local health agency.
Previously, Public Health was tasked with calling those on the wait list to set up a select time to administer the vaccine, Public Health Nurse Olivia Scheele said. Now, those wanting to receive the vaccination will have to monitor the new portal for scheduling.
As of Tuesday morning, Moffat County Public Health has transitioned to the online electronic medical record portal
for scheduling and maintaining records for immunizations. Moving forward, this will be the only way for individuals to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccination. ....

Moffat County School District is financially fine, looks to spend CARES Act money in 2021

Editor’s Note: This article updates the financial picture of the Moffat County School District. Previously, the Craig Press erroneously reported that the district was operating at a deficit.
The Moffat County School District’s Board of Education adopted an amended budget during the Jan. 28 meeting, which showed the budget increase by more than $385,000. Much of that increase comes from CARES Act funding, which the school district received in 2020 but will spend in 2021.
“We are spending less than our budget,” said John Wall, the district’s finance director. “We were given CARES act money last year that we are not spending until this year on coronavirus type stuff.” ....

Moffat County now up to 672 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 24 deaths

Moffat County is currently seeing a downward trend in COVID-19 cases as the community has seen 34 new cases dating back to Tuesday, Dec. 29, according to Public Health.
In total, Moffat County has 672 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the community, with 26 of those cases currently active.
Moffat County Coroner Jesse Arthurs confirmed that two more Moffat County residents – two men in their 70s – have died due to COVID-19. One death occurred last week, and one death occurred this week. Both individuals were transferred from Memorial Regional Health to other facilities due to the severity of their illnesses.
“When you take precautions to avoid contracting or transmitting this virus, you can save a life. That life could be your own, or someone who means a lot to you,” said Kari Ladrow, Moffat County’s Public Health Director. ....
