Second edition of Prof Mateen Murtaza's book launched at KU - Newspaper


KARACHI: The University of Karachi on Thursday launched the second edition of the book titled Main ne Pakistan Bante Dekha, which is based on childhood memories of migration of Professor Syed Mateen-ur-Rehman Murtaza.
The late Mateen Murtaza was a well-known veteran journalist and the former chairman of KU’s department of mass communication. In his book, Professor Mateen has shared his childhood memories of migration and mentioned the experiences after separating from the family along with his younger brother.
The speakers at the book launch informed the audience that the book contains experiences of Prof Mateen and how and why he fell in love with Pakistan. ....

Karachi University on Thursday launched the second edition of a book titled ‘Mein Ne Pakistan Bante Dekha’, which is based on the childhood memories of the migration of Prof Syed Mateen-ur-Rehman Murtaza.

Why Hazaras in Pakistan's Quetta have refused to bury 11 coal miners killed in IS attack

In Quetta, the families of Hazara coal miners killed in an Islamic State attack last week have refused to bury the bodies, demanding a visit by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, and immediate action against the perpetrators.
Eleven coal miners were abducted and killed Saturday in a terror attack claimed by the Islamic State. The families of the miners have since been leading a sit-in demonstration with the bodies.
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal visited the protest camp Wednesday and urged them to let go of their demand that they will only bury their relatives if Khan visits them. He also sought to assure the protesters that his government is working towards eradicating terrorism.  ....
