Article content Too early for gyms In his letter Open gyms now (July 9), G. Phillips claims it is past time to reopen fitness clubs in the province. I disagree. There are several problems. The age group that uses gyms has one of the lowest rates of vaccinations. Even if vaccinated, you can still carry the virus. The only way a gym patron can ensure he or she is not spreading or receiving virus is to wear a mask that completely seals the mouth and nose. Otherwise, the virus particles blow off to the side of the face. The delta variant is more transmissible and already is the dominant strain in many parts of the province. The last thing we need to do right now is cause a fourth wave by foolishly exchanging breath in an enclosed room. ....
