Michael Blackburn, chairman of the Mountain Water District commission, tendered his resignation following the Dec. 22 special called meeting of the commissionâs board. In a letter of resignation to Pike County Judge-Executive Ray Jones, provided to the News-Express at Blackburnâs request, Blackburn said that âdue to my current employment situation, I am no longer able to continue my responsibilities as member of the Board of Commissioners.â Blackburnâs resignation is effective Jan. 1. In the resignation letter, Blackburn said he was âleaving with a great sense of accomplishment of some of the significant projects Mountain Water District has undertaken during my affiliation.â ....
