The driver who went left of center just before a Jan. 31 highway crash that killed four Topekans in southeast Nebraska had not been drinking, a prosecutor said Thursday. A blood test found no alcohol in the system of Ronald Dubas, 55, of La Vista, Neb., said S. Collin Palm, district attorney for Cass County, Neb. Results of other toxicological tests were not yet available and Palm s office had not yet received all investigative reports about the crash from law enforcement, he said Thursday. Dubas suffered injuries that weren t considered life-threatening about 7:15 p.m. Jan. 31 when the northbound pickup truck he was driving went left of center on US-75 highway, about 12 miles north of Nebraska City, Neb., and collided head-on with a southbound car containing five Topekans. ....
Relatives and friends expressed sorrow Tuesday on Facebook over the deaths of four Topekans two young women and two girls killed late Sunday when a pickup truck went left of center on US-75 highway in southeast Nebraska and collided head-on with the car they were in.
