Human Rights Group Asks for Report on Missing Malaysian Pastor
04/07/2021 Malaysia (International Christian Concern) – It has been two years since the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia’s (Suhakam) public inquiry made a unanimous decision that the Royal Malaysia Police’s Special Branch was behind the abduction of Pastor Raymond Koh and activist Amri Che Mat. However, the report has not been made public yet.
The Citizens Against Enforced Disappearances (CAGED) is urging the Malaysian government to release the Suhakam findings in 2019 to reinvestigate the alleged enforced disappearance of the two men.
In a statement released on April 2, CAGED said the task force report ought to be released, in view of the current allegations of a cartel of dirty cops within the police force. ....

01/25/2021 Malaysia (International Christian Concern) – The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) has called on government agencies to deal with ID cases marking the wrong religious status of Sarawakians, including the Orang Asal communities.
According to Free Malaysia Today, Sarawak Suhakam commissioner Madeline Berma said the state’s Islamic Religious Department should also expedite the handling of such cases. 01/12/2021 Malaysia (International Christian Concern) – The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) panel, working on the case of missing pastor Joshua Hilmy and his wife Ruth Sitepu, expressed today its disappointment in the authorities as they withheld certain evidence.
According to Free Malaysia Today, the third investigating officer tasked to probe Hilmy’s disappearance, Zulfadhly Yaacob, said there were two items requested by Suhakam that he could not produce because of orders from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC).
He said the reason given was that leaking or giving the information to third parties would hinder the police investigation and efforts to trace the victims and potential suspects. He also added that the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) involved said there was no proof that police had breached any human rights in their probe. ....
