UNB, Dhaka UNB, Dhaka Bangladesh has urged Malaysia to finalise the protocol amending the MoU between the government of Malaysia and the government of Bangladesh (G-to-G plus) on the employment of workers. Bangladesh also requested Malaysia to take back the stranded Bangladeshi workers who could not return to Malaysia due to Covid-19 lockdown. Bangladesh appreciated the government of Malaysia for allowing the workers to change employers and also for introducing the recalibration program under which illegal workers would have an opportunity to legalise. The State Minister congratulated the High Commissioner on her appointment in Dhaka and assured her of all-out cooperation during her assignment in Dhaka. Md Shahriar Alam said that Malaysia is Bangladesh’s trusted friend and partner with which Bangladesh enjoys strong bilateral relations since independence. 8th January, 2021 11:13:45 State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam has urged the government of Malaysia to do the needful for taking back the stranded Bangladeshi workers to their old and new place of work in Malaysia on humanitarian ground. The state minister made the call when newly appointed Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Hazanah Md Hasim called on him at his office on Thursday. Shahriar Alam also requested to extend all kinds of cooperation to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment and to bring a solution to the current migrant’s issue. The high commissioner assured him of taking back the workers and hoped that student issues will also be solved soon. ....
