Another Day in Paradise: Govt plans mega tourism event in J&K from April 11

The Ministry of Tourism is organizing a mega tourism promotion event in Srinagar Tapping the Potential of Kashmir
Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha and Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture (Independent charge) Prahlad Singh Patel will address the delegates at the inauguration of the event.
The Ministry of Tourism, in association with the Tourism Department of Jammu Kashmir, Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FICCI) and the Indian Golf Tourism Association (IGTA) is organizing this event from April 11-13, 2021.
The objective of the event is to showcase the myriad tourism products of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and promote tourism to Jammu and Kashmir as the destination for leisure, adventure, Eco, Wedding, films and MICE Tourism. Secretary Ministry of Tourism Arvind Singh and other senior officers of the Ministry will also be present on this occasion. ....

Railways announces 33 Sankranti special trains in Andhra from Jan 9 to 16

Considering the Sankranti festival rush, the South Central Railway (SCR) zone will run more than 30 special trains to ferry passengers from Hyderabad to multiple places in Andhra Pradesh from Saturday.
In order to clear extra rush during Sankranti festival, SCR will run special trains between Hyderabad - Visakhapatnam - Hyderabad and Secunderabad - Tirupati, said a railway zone official on Friday.
As many as 17 Sankranti specials will depart to Visakhapatnam and Tirupati. Train number 07451 will depart Hyderabad at 10.15 p.m. and arrive at Visakhapatnam the next day at 10.50 a.m.
This train has been scheduled from Saturday to January 16.
En route, it will halt at the Sankranti extravaganza hotbeds of Bhimavaram, Guntur, Vijayawada, Kaikaluru, Akividu, Tanuku, Nidadavolu, Rajamundry and others. ....

Bird flu scare: Assam bans entry of poultry products from outside NE

The Assam government has imposed
an indefinite ban on the entry of poultry products from outside the Northeastern region as a precautionary measure following avian flu outbreak in some states.
The ban comes into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders, according to a notification issued by the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department.
However, there is no need to panic as the state has not reported any confirmed case of the bird flue so far, director of the state veterinary department Ashok Barman said.
Assam imports poultry products from other parts of the country, especially Eastern India, but officials said there will not be a shortage of chicken due to the large scale local production and storage. ....
