Film Festival thriller Catch The Fair One, Oscar-nominated
producer Mollye Ashers follow-up to Nomadland.
The movie, about a former
champion boxer who embarks on the fight of her life when she
goes in search of her missing sister, marks the acting debut of
real-life boxer, Kali KO Reis, the first Native American woman
to win a major world title. Reis is the current WBA Super
Lightweight World Champion and fought in the first televised
womens bout on HBO.
As announced by Tribeca yesterday, the film will get its world ....

Pleasure Director Ninja Thyberg Signs With CAA (EXCLUSIVE)

Ninja Thyberg, whose movie “Pleasure” debuted to rave reviews at Sundance Film Festival, has signed with CAA.
“Pleasure,” an explicit drama about the adult film industry, marked Thyberg’s feature film directorial debut. In 2013, she directed a short of the same name, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival.

Prior to its premiere at Sundance, Thyberg told
Variety she was interesting in holding a mirror to the way media images shape our identity.
“People consume so much pornography today and it’s something that we never discuss publicly or talk about amongst our friends,” she said. “It’s a huge part of our culture that exists in a world of shadows and that made me curious to understand more about it. I guess because it was taboo, that’s why I wanted to dig into it.” ....

The British playwright, director and actor Kwame Kwei-Armah has signed with CAA and Redefine Entertainment.
He currently serves as the artistic director for the Young Vic in London and was previously artistic director of Baltimore Center Stage. Kwei-Armah most recently wrote “All Rise,” a musical about how Viagra came to market inside Pfizer, with “The Trial of the Chicago 7’s” Matt Jackson set to produce and Spike Lee on board to direct.
