Wayne State offers scholarship for Michigan front-line workers Wayne State University Wayne State University is offering financial aid for students who complete the state-funded Futures for Frontliners program. Wayne State University is joining a growing number of colleges in Michigan offering financial assistance to front-line workers. The Detroit-based university is introducing the $4,000 Frontliners Forward scholarship, providing community college transfer students $2,000 per academic year for two consecutive years to work toward a bachelor s degree, according to a Wednesday news release. To be eligible, students must complete the state-funded Futures for Frontliners program, which offers free community college to residents working in jobs deemed essential during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 100,000 have applied for the program out of an estimated 625,000 who qualified. ....
