JR Gomez signs with Baby Grand Records, readies sophomore album

Mario Ortiz, as Gomez continues to work on his highly-anticipated sophomore album. “I’ve been wanting to work with anybody to just give that chance and Mario’s been a good friend of mine for a long time, we toured together with Jay Perez, of course, and done a lot of projects together,” Gomez tells Tejano Nation. “Mario’s always believed in me and he’s always dreamed of having this record label and I told him let me be your artist. It is an awesome feeling to be a part of Baby Grand Records and for Mario to believe in me and invest in me.”

Binghamton University’s Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences has officially opened at its brand new location in Johnson City. Relocated to a former Endicott-Johnson Shoe Company factory, the renovations give the building a modern twist, with off-white walls and black window trim, while keeping the building’s original 1916 brick and pillars intact, according to Patti Reuther, director of the Innovative Simulation and Practice Center (ISPC).

Child shot in front of Pasadena home is in critical condition

Print A 10-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon in front of his house in Pasadena, suffering life-threatening injuries, police said. The shooting occurred around 3 p.m. near the intersection of Parke Street and Garfield Avenue, said Pasadena Police Department Lt. Mario Ortiz. The boy, who was not identified, was in front of the house when multiple men in a light-colored sedan pulled up and began firing. The boy was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition, Ortiz said. The investigation is ongoing. On the street where the boy was shot, several bullet shell casings were seen on the ground, according to a news report from KTLA. Ortiz said police are looking for two to three men as suspects.
