Honor Flight plans drive-through veteran celebration
FORT WAYNE â Honor Flight Northeast Indiana is presenting âA Drive Thru Salute to All Veteransâ to be held in the parking lot of the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave., on Saturday, June 12, from 10-11:30 a.m.
Vehicles are asked to enter from Parnell and exit onto Coliseum after navigating the celebration corridor.
The event is planned as an opportunity for Honor Flight Northeast Indiana to stay connected with all veterans, including those who have patiently waited for clearance to resume Honor Flights. Veterans who have not yet signed up for a future flight will be invited to do so through applications and information on how to sign up, which will be distributed to each vehicle via a goody bag while supplies last.

OHIO & INDIANA – The Honor Flight Network will require that all participants on 2021 Honor Flight trips be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Currently, all trips are on hold until at least Aug. 15. Honor Flight is taking these precautions, among other COVID-19 safety measures, to ensure the health and safety of all those who travel with them. Some Honor Flight veterans are in the CDC’s high-risk categories and reside in assisted living facilities with other vulnerable populations. At this time, requiring that all participants be fully vaccinated is the best step we can take to keep our veterans safe while experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, said Honor Flight officials.
