At Spruce Middle School in northern Maine, students have filled a glass display window with more than 156,000 erasers in memory of Holocaust victims and they’re just getting started. Students in Mariah Sergio’s then-sixth grade class were inspired by the Paper Clip Project, a similar monument created by middle school students in Tennessee. They told Sergio they wanted to create a memorial of their own.
