Save trees Mother Earth has given us many gifts. One of them is trees. Trees are very important for the environment and for the health of all living things. Without them, the environment will not be clean and the earth will not sustain for long. So, it is for the good of all living things that we, humans, should plant more trees and do things that promote greenery in our surroundings. We should also stop all those who add to deforestation by cutting trees. The myth of multitasking This is with reference to the cover story “The myth of multitasking” by Kamal Ahmed Qureshi, (YW, December 19). I agree with the writer that multitasking decreases the quality of work and puts unnecessary pressure on the mind. In order to do multiple things at a time, the brain needs to focus and process information, which affects productivity. Multitasking physically could be fine, but it’s hard for a brain to handle it. Studying and scrolling or watching TV at the same time with equal concentration is not possible. Multitasking can increase the quantity of work we accomplish at the same time, but decreases the quality of each work. ....
The world is my canvas This is regarding the cover story “The world is my canvas” by Benazir Raz (YW, December 12). Graffiti is a beautiful art of written words; it should be promoted throughout the world, especially in our country. There are many artists, but very few get the chance to come to light and showcase their talent. However, through graffiti, as it is done on public places, artists can show their skills and talent to the world. I think this art-form should be promoted on a larger scale and artists who are doing graffiti should be given a chance to beautify roadside walls. ....

The meeting was held at the Institute of Policy Studies to discuss IPS study on barriers surrounding distributed generation with IPS executive president Khalid Rahman in the chair. The event was moderated by former water and power secretary Mirza Hamid Hasan and addressed by Asad Mehmood of the National Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority, Aftab Ahmad Awan of the Planning Commission, Neshmiya A Khan, Hamza Butt and Maryam Arshad of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Zeeshan Ashfaq of the World Wind Energy Association Pakistan (WWEA), Mushtaq Gaadi of the Quaid-i-Azam University, and Dr Azhar Lashari and Haneea Isaad of the Rural Development Policy Institute (RDPI). ....
