MemorialCare has announced that its two Orange County hospitals – MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center in Fountain Valley and MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center in Laguna Hills – have each administered their first COVID-19 vaccinations.
In accordance with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for vaccine prioritization, the hospitals’ frontline healthcare workers who interact directly with COVID-19 patients were the first to receive the first of two doses of the vaccine developed by Pfizer and approved for emergency use authorization by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Each hospital received the first vaccine doses last week which will be followed by additional shipments in the coming weeks. ....
