Walk For Wildlife Event Coming To Pere Marquette

WBGZ Radio 4/12/2021 | By Ross Pearson - WBGZ Radio Treehouse Wildlife Center is teaming up with Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton to host their inaugural “Walk For Wildlife” event. The day of outdoors fun will feature a walk through the nature trails at the park, peppered with meet and greets from “Animal Educator Ambassadors”, activity booths, kids craft tables, magicians and more. National Resource Coordinator at Pere Marquette State Park Kayla Alexander tells the Big Z the event will raise money for rehabilitating injured wild animals.   Walk for Wildlife is May 1 st from 9 am to 2 pm. Tickets are limited to 100 people and are $10, with kids three years old and under admitted for free. The walk will begin at the vistor’s center sign-in table at Pere Marquette. Riverbend Earth Day Festival to Be Held at Old Bakery Beer

WBGZ Radio 4/5/2021 | By Ross Pearson - WBGZ Radio The annual Riverbend Earth Day festival will return this month as a live in-person event. This year the Old Bakery Beer Company in Downtown Alton is the venue. There will be live music acts, food and drinks, an artisan’s market, environmental education booths and more. Riverbend Earth Day Festival is free to attend and family friendly.   The event is sponsored by the Sierra Club, the Nature Institute, the Treehouse Wildlife Center, and more. The event will run from 11:30 am to 4 pm on Saturday, April 17th. The dining room and the brewery will remain open for business-as-usual service during the event. They do advertise it as a socially-distanced event and will require mask wearing.
