The Maine Department of Agriculture and Forestry informs us that Sunday, July 18th, will be a special day at Maine State Parks and most historic sites. If you have a conservation plate on your vehicle, you ll be admitted free that day!
Yes, conservation license plates are the ones with the loon on it.

It s always a lot of fun to take the family on a day trip to a place like the 770 acre big Reid State Park with it s sandy beaches and rolling sand dunes. Or, just head right down the road to Lamoine State Park to enjoy a picnic and a walk of the grounds.

Well, here you go, what a great way to celebrate Father s day and the forthcoming first full week of summer. Sunday, June 20th, is Maine Resident s Day, and that means free admission to our beautiful Maine State Parks and certain Historic sites!
For that day, any vehicle with Maine registration plates on it and it s occupants will be admitted free to places like Lamoine State Park, Camden Hills State Park, Popham Beach State Park, Swan Lake State Park, Fort Knox in Prospect, and many others.
Residents of Maine will receive free use of the park from 9 a.m. until closing that day. Normally, an admission is collected at the gates and fees vary anywhere between $3 and $7, depending on the park.
